Introduction
Each year the Committee of Management of Eildon Housing Association and Board Members of the subsidiary organisations review the Group’s Aims and Objectives to ensure the Core Business and Secondary Business Activities are consistent with the Group’s Mission Statement and the aims and objectives of each Member Organisation.

  The Group’s Mission Statement

'The Eildon Group consists of a group of ‘not for profit’ organisations that provide funding, skills, services and assets for a wide range of community and individual needs, all of which help to support community planning objectives.'

The Organisations that Form the Group

The Eildon Group consists of a parent organisation, Eildon Housing Association Ltd, a charitable registered social landlord that, through Eildon Housing, carries out the core business activities of managing, maintaining and developing social rented houses and shared ownership properties throughout the Scottish Borders for those in need. In addition it provides, through ‘Eildon Care and Support’, a range of flexible support and care packages for tenants and residents in need. Eildon Housing Association owns the assets of the Group in the form of property, vehicles and equipment and employs all the staff, some of whom also work for other organisations in the Eildon Group.

The Eildon Group has two subsidiary organisations, Eildon Tweed Valley H.A. Ltd and Eildon Enterprise Ltd. Eildon Tweed Valley H.A. Ltd is a non registered, non charitable housing association that carries out agency and consultancy contracts for other housing associations in Scotland. Eildon Enterprise Ltd is a not for profit company, limited by guarantee, that carries out a wide range of services including the procurement of non housing assets that bring benefits to local communities and individuals in need.

In addition, the Eildon Group has a fund raising and grant giving Trust to help individuals and groups to obtain grants that will benefit the Group’s overall objectives.

The Group’s View for the Next three Years

Over the next three years the Eildon Group will build on its strengths to deliver an increasing range of housing, care and support, and community services through its parent and subsidiary organisations for individuals and communities in need.

Eildon Housing Association Ltd, as the parent of the Eildon Group, will build on its strengths as an ‘A’ rated Registered Social Landlord (RSL) to maintain its position as one of Scotland’s most effective and innovative housing associations. Through Eildon Housing it will give top priority to the delivery of high quality services to its tenants within the financial constraints of an affordable rent policy and the relevant subsidies available from central and local government. This activity will remain the core business of the Group.

Eildon Housing Association also provides a wide range of flexible and innovative care and support services for its tenants and residents, through Eildon Care and Support whose seventy staff deliver a range of quality services to individuals with particular needs.

Eildon Care and Support will build on the excellent reputation of Eildon Housing Association for the services it delivers to people with learning disabilities, older people (including those with dementia), vulnerable single people and people with a physical disability. It will work with colleagues in other care organisations, Scottish Borders Council and NHS Borders, to increase partnership working for those with particular needs.

Eildon Tweed Valley will continue to deliver our agency service for Rural Stirling Housing Association Ltd.

Eildon Tweed Valley will also promote itself as the main vehicle for delivering Agency Services to other RSLs and, over the next three years, will promote this activity particularly to other rural RSLs.

Eildon Enterprise is a relatively new company which will prepare a full business plan for the next 3 years.

This will incorporate existing contracts with Scottish Borders Council for Care and Repair and will explore the potential for working with Community Development Trusts to support the range of skills available within the Group in the most cost effective way.

The Eildon Trust will reassess its role within the Group and promote its activities to attract additional funds for distribution to deserving individuals and organisations.
