Housing for Affordable Rent

We have a wide variety of different types and sizes of houses and flats situated throughout the Scottish Borders. 

Approximately 90% of our properties are let at affordable rents with the rest available on a shared ownership basis.  Most of our developments have been built over the last 15 years, and are located in existing communities close to local amenities.  In addition to those properties we have designed and built ourselves, we have also acquired approximately 150 houses from Scottish Homes and Borders Health Board.

Each year about 160 of our properties become available for applicants with a further 50 new houses being completed through our ongoing development programme.

Our vacant and new properties are advertised and let through Borders Choice Homes which is a common housing register for Eildon Housing Association, Berwickshire Housing Association, Waverley Housing and Cairn Housing Association.  If you register with Borders Choice Homes by completing a short application form, you can then apply for housing with any of the above landlords.

Properties available for rent are advertised each week in the Berwickshire News, Southern Reporter, at all landlords' offices, on Freephone 0800 587 4868 and at the Homehunt website.
