RSABI is a unique Scottish charity dedicated to the relief of hardship and poverty amongst people who have depended for their livelihoods on the land.
Who they can help:
RSABI can help people:
- who have spent at least 10 years working in Scotland, full-time in a land-based occupation, or
- who have depended upon someone who has done so
in circumstances where they:
- are now retired, or no longer able to work and
- have low income and
- have savings of less than £12,000 for a single person or £16,000 for partnered people.
or face a crisis in their lives:
- When applicants face personal crisis due to such factors as accident, ill health or bereavement. Financial help in such cases is subject to the same income and savings criteria as above.
- When applicants' personal circumstances suffer due to wider external events beyond their control.
Qualifying occupations include agriculture, crofting, forestry, horticulture, fish-farming, gamekeeping, rural estate work and other jobs that depend on the provision of services directly to these industries.
