The Outreach Service based at Station Avenue visits people who live alone or with relatives or friends to provide care and/or support on an individually arranged basis.
Who can apply?
The services are specifically
for adults with learning disabilities who live in or have a connection
with the Duns area.
The care home accommodation is offered on a long-term basis, and vacancies do not arise very often. Applications are usually made by a Social Worker, since a full Community Care Assessment will normally be needed.
How much is
it likely to cost?
The charge for a place in the care home will depend on individual circumstances. A Social Worker would need to carry out a financial assessment to determine how much any individual would need to pay. Most residents receive benefits that fully cover their contribution and Scottish Borders Council pays the balance.
