On Thursday 4 May, the tenants of Millar House celebrated its 20th anniversary in style.
Proceedings started at 12.15pm when a light buffet lunch was served. During the lunch, Chief Executive, Nile Istephan, gave a speech congratulating all the tenants and the staff on this great achievement and stated how lovely Millar House and its grounds continue to look especially bathed in the glorious summer sunshine.
One tenant Margaret Laverick who has taken a keen interest in the history of Millar House, formerly called Ashby House, had written a detailed account of her research which was on display for all to see at the party.
Jeana Fraser who has been a resident of Millar House the longest, was given the honours of cutting the birthday cake and was presented with a bouquet of flowers. Jeana was delighted with this gesture and after lunch, the tenants were entertained by Hawick’s own ‘Golden Girls’. A wonderful time was had by all.
