We offer advice and assistance around managing a successful tenancy. Our team is accessible to all our tenants across both general needs housing and sheltered and supported accommodation. We can:
• Help to maximise your income by identifying where you may have a benefit entitlement, or require some budgeting advice, and helping you with this process.
• Contact and make referrals to other services which you may require help from, such as social work, citizens advice bureau, Foodbank, Fresh Start, various charities.
• Identify where you may need assistance to manage the upkeep of your tenancy. If you are struggling to maintain your home or your garden, we can discuss this with you and look at ways of managing this to help you improve things.
• Offer advice and assistance with set up issues if you have recently moved into your EHA home. This can include benefit claims, grant applications, set up of gas and electricity supplies and more.
You can contact us by telephone, email or text message. We can meet with you in our Selkirk office or visit you at home. We regularly travel all over the Borders from Broughton to Newcastleton to Cockburnspath, offering the same service to all tenants, including those who may live in geographically isolated areas and villages.
We have two Tenancy Sustainment Officers in our team, Carol Robertson and Caroline Thomson, who between them have been supporting EHA tenants for over 25 years.
