Our team at Oakwood Park in Galashiels and Millar House in Melrose provide an excellent quality service for older tenants who want to live independently with additional support. Meeting our tenant’s needs is very important to us and as a team we manage this very well. We work together to ensure those tenants who need further support receive it.
Our commitment and quality of care was reflected in our recent Care Inspection which awarded us a 5 ‘Very good’ and as a team we were delighted with this result.
Over the past year the team has changed from working at only one of the developments to working over both Oakwood Park and Millar House which has proven to be a positive transition for all staff. We have successfully managed to adapt required development paperwork to ensure consistency across both developments.
As part of our role we organise parties and ‘get togethers’ which is valuable to tenants especially those who can feel isolated and lonely.
The team have also welcomed Galashiels Academy Pupil, Lucy Robertson who is currently volunteering at Oakwood Park to achieve her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. Lucy recently took part in a video on our Facebook page to tell people how much she has enjoyed her experience here at Oakwood and our tenants love having her.
The staff team consists of Lynne Thomson (Coordinator), Catriona Liddy, Laura Green (Assistant Coordinator) and Jude Duncan (Domestic) along with Lee Brown (Assistant) and Wendy Stewart (Domestic) not in the photo.
