Anyone crossing the bridge across the Tweed at Peebles will have seen construction work taking place on the south side of the river.
Eildon Group have acquired and demolished the very dated and vacant building at Tweedbridge Court and are very excited about the proposals to redevelop the site to provide affordable rented flats.
We are very much aware that this is a very prominent site within Peebles and as such have taken great care in our approach to progress our plans to redevelop the former Tweedbridge Court. This started with the selection of a local architect, Camerons, and our partner contractor, Hart’s Builders both of whom we have worked with for many years and have a track record of sensitive and quality housing designs and construction with a full understanding of the build environment in the Borders. As a team we have worked closely with the Planning department at Scottish Borders Council to design the redevelopment of the Tweedbridge Court site. We are keen to now seek local people’s views on the current deign proposal, prior to lodging a formal planning application.
The current proposal would provide 40 new flats within two blocks, one of which will have level access and be served with a lift to allow those with limited mobility the opportunity to live there; ground levels prevent a similar option on the second block.
Representatives from Eildon, our architects and contractor, will all be at the Eastgate Theatre on Tuesday 24 July between 3.15 pm and 7.00 pm to allow local people to view and comment on our current proposal; all are welcome.
