That’s the question Eildon Housing Association (Eildon) and Hart Builders asked Galashiels Primary schools when they were invited to paint a mural on the fence that surrounds the development site at Huddersfield Street in Galashiels. The Galashiels Braw Lad and Lass unveiled the artwork from Clovenfords, Burgh, St Peter’s, St Margaret’s, Stow, Tweedbank and Langlee primary schools which will be entered into this year’s Ivor Goodsite hoarding competition. Children of all ages can take part in the competition which is designed to unleash artistic skills on site hoardings up and down the country.
Eildon’s Chief Executive Nile Istephan commented, “This has been a fantastic multi-school community project working in joint partnership with Hart Builders. The ideas the children have illustrated, and the standard of the paintings have far exceeded our expectations. No matter what the outcome of the competition, I’m sure you’ll agree the paintings have brightened up our Border town and the children are a credit to their schools.”
