Eildon hosts 48th AGM and holds SGM

Eildon held its 48th Annual General Meeting on 1 September 2021 at the end of a tumultuous year.

The AGM was preceded by a Special General Meeting held to allow the adoption of new Rules for the Association, including the ability to hold future AGM meetings virtually if required.

Chairman, Dave Alexander, highlighted some of the key achievements made during 2020/21 despite the current global pandemic including: the significant expansion of Eildon’s new build programme, the continuation of the work of the Home Improvement Team (the HIT Squad), the progression of the Green Homes Pilot as well as great progress with the planned expansion for the delivery of extra care housing.

The Chairman paid specific tribute to Eildon staff and their efforts during the pandemic. Care staff have worked throughout and have been caring and resilient in the support of our customers. The rest of the workforce have adapted to home working and the various stages of restrictions, keeping business as usual going as much as possible. Many Eildon staff have engaged in community and voluntary work over this period, including supporting the Eildon Regional Food Hub which has distributed over 170 tons of free food to food banks and community groups across the length and breadth of the region.

The Chairman reported, “We are sorry that our Vice Chair Ms Cathie Fancy has decided to stand down this year after 3 years of sterling support to our Board, and we want to thank her for her great contribution.”
