Cathie Fancy - Our Board Chair

Cathie Fancy Headshot USE

Overview

I moved to the Borders in 2005 to take up a post with Borders Council as the Senior Manager for Housing and related welfare services. I first lived in Kelso and then moved to Tweedbank in 2008. I joined Eildon’s Board in 2018 and was honoured to take up the position as Vice Chair which I served for three years. I have over 20 years’ experience in housing both in academia and local government. I worked in Strategic Housing, Homelessness, Anti-Social Behaviour, Welfare and Employability including Poverty. I retired from the Council in October 2018.

Prior to this I practiced as a Counselling Psychologist specialising in eating disorders and general therapy. I have an MSc in Housing, a BSc (Hons) in Counselling Psychology and a diploma in Counselling.

Over the years I have enjoyed hill and coastal walking, my American Cocker Spaniel Millie, cooking/eating out, travelling and owing to the pandemic got quite obsessed with knitting for my four grandchildren and friends.
