Our Community FoodHub

Our community foodhub was set up to make sure the most vulnerable people, and pets, across the Scottish Borders have access to essential food and household items.

About our FoodHub

Set up in March 2020, we partnered with Edinburgh charities Cyrenians and FareShare to redistribute donations across the Borders to address the heightened need for access to food as a result of the pandemic and the rural location of communities in the Borders.

Our work is making such a difference supporting local foodbanks. Since September 2021, we’ve received and distributed over 29 tonnes of food from Fair Share and 1500 of our furry friends have also benefited.

This project has been fantastic at bringing like-minded organisations together for the greater good of the Borders. 2020 was a very difficult time and the Food Hub helped so many people and animals. We’re all very proud of the achievements we made then and are continuing to make now.

What a fantastic job this amazing man, Colin Playfair, does! He has been delivering food to us for three years which has gone to support the food projects which some of our members run as well as supporting the local community right here on our doorstep. Well done to Colin and Eildon Housing.
