Two high quality wheelchair accessible bungalows were completed as part of Phase II of the sympathetic redevelopment of the former Kelso High School, which includes our extra care housing service at Poynder Apartments. The bungalows were specifically adapted to meet the needs of the new tenants, offering bespoke environments to enable the delivery of excellent care and support.

Kelso is a market town in the Scottish Borders, and the bungalows are in a central location near a fabulous range of amenities. The town square is less than 10 minutes’ walk from Poynder Gardens and offers a range of amenities including restaurants, hotels, pubs and a range of shops. There are two supermarkets on the outskirts of the town. There is a health centre nearby and Borders General Hospital is less than 15 miles away.

We provide a Housing Support and Care at Home service from our base at our Station Avenue in Duns.

Registered with the Care Inspectorate, this service is available to anyone with a learning disability through staff visiting service users in their own homes in or around Duns, whether they are a tenant with us or not.

The keys to life strategy recognises that people who have a learning disability have the same aspirations and expectations as everyone else and is guided by a vision shaped by the Scottish Government’s ambition for all citizens. This strategy is central to how we design and deliver our learning disability services, working in partnership with our tenants and service users, and their support networks. Find out more.
