Five star rating at Eildon’s Learning Disability Services

We are delighted that following an unannounced Care Inspectorate inspection, our Learning Disability Service has achieved Very Good (Grade 5) evaluations for both ‘How Well they Support People’s Wellbeing’ and ‘How Good their Leadership Is’.

Our services at Station Avenue in Duns and our newer location Poynder Gardens in Kelso have grown from strength to strength, supporting independence for Service Users.

The report highlighted the positive outcomes experienced by the people they support, with service users enjoying “positive and trusting relationships” with staff and supported to live active, fulfilling lives.

One person shared that they were “being supported to do more for myself.” Inspectors also found that leadership promotes a “consistent and cohesive approach” that helps to “drive positive outcomes for people.”

The inspection recognised how staff build on people’s strengths, support independence and choice, and work closely with health professionals to promote wellbeing. Also highlighting robust quality assurance processes and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.

We are particularly pleased that all areas for improvement identified at the previous inspection were confirmed as fully met, with no new areas for improvement.
