OPAL has groups throughout the Borders, in Hawick, Kelso, Galashiels and Peebles. Creating and encouraging communities to support each other.
The OPAL service is delivered in Eildon Supported Housing developments making the social activity groups accessible to all in the community. The free-to-attend sessions have a variety of activities from gentle chair exercises, quizzes, games, guest speakers, arts and crafts and music. As well as the social activity groups we have men only specific groups, and the Forget Me Not Café a monthly support group.

Pie and a Brew groups are where men can connect socially over a Pie and a Brew.
There are held between 11am – 12.30pm at the following locations:
Dovecot Court, Peebles. (1st Monday of the month)
Teviot Court, Hawick. (2nd Tuesday of the month)
Poynder Apartments, Kelso. (3rd Thursday of the month)
OPAL also offers dementia support via the Forget Me Not Café a monthly support groups for those with dementia and their carers. They are held at:
Wilkie Gardens, Galashiels. 2.30pm – 4pm (1st Thursday of the month)
OPAL is run with a dedicated team of volunteers. Our volunteers are trained and supported throughout and are a vital part of the service we provide, from helping to run the groups and to transport.
